Why Should I Straighten My Smile with an Orthodontist?
Simply put, orthodontists complete special training in addition to dental school. As a result, they have an in-depth understanding of everything from common orthodontic problems to the best way to move your teeth into their properly aligned positions. Our exceptional team at Simply Orthodontics also has extensive experience when it comes to treating patients, which is especially helpful when it comes to transitioning to as well as navigating life with braces.
Do You Take Dental Insurance?
You’ll be happy to hear that we do welcome dental insurance! So, if you are currently insured, don’t hesitate to ask us for help navigating the ins and outs of your coverage. We will also provide you with an estimate of your out-of-pocket expenses, handle the paperwork for you, and answer any questions you have that come up throughout your teeth-straightening journey.
Note: If you don’t have dental insurance, that’s okay! We also offer other financial solutions, like CareCredit.
How Long Does Orthodontic Treatment Take?
There are two main factors that impact the length of your orthodontic treatment. The first is the complexity of your case. In other words, the more effort it takes to move your teeth and bite into proper alignment, the more time it will take to achieve your dream smile.
The second factor is compliance with the treatment guidelines set out for you. If you stick to the dietary restrictions with traditional braces or wear your aligners for 20+ hours a day with Invisalign, then there’s a good chance that you won’t experience any treatment plan delays!
Why Should I Straighten My Crooked Teeth?
Patients often assume that crooked teeth only impact the look of their smiles. That’s not the case! The reality is that overlapping and overcrowding can make it difficult for your toothbrush and floss to remove harmful plaque and tartar, increasing the risk of tooth decay, gum disease, and the like in the process. Of course, difficulty chewing properly, chronic jaw pain, and premature wear and tear are concerns as well. So, if your teeth are misaligned, it’s worth coming in for a consultation; orthodontic treatment can benefit the look, health, and function of your smile!
Do Braces Hurt?
As your teeth move into their perfectly aligned positions, some soreness is to be expected. The good news is that it’s only temporary. Plus, there are a few easy ways you can alleviate it, starting with sticking to soft foods. We also recommend sipping on cool water, using dental wax to cover any sharp edges, and taking OTC pain medication as directed.
